Daniel Richard Lundy

Daniel “Danny” Richard Lundy, 36, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 11th, 2021. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 7, 1985, to Richard and Mary Kay (Welsch) Lundy and moved to Central Ohio with his family in 1990.

Danny was a 2003 graduate of Olentangy High School. He received two Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University in 2008 and continued to obtain a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 2011.

He was proud to have accumulated over 500 hours as a volunteer at COSI, which led him to realize his career goals. He had recently returned to school at OSU to pursue teaching science to gifted high school students.

Danny had a lot of interests, including gaming, LEGO building, reading, music, and science fiction. He also loved to spend time with his family and friends.

While his absence leaves a void in our lives, Danny’s wit and sense of humor will forever bring a smile to our faces.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother and grandfather, Regina and Donald Welsch; grandfather, James Lundy; and uncle, Dale Lundy.

Danny will be deeply missed by his parents, Rich and Mary Kay; brother, Jason Lundy; grandmother, Lois Lundy; aunts and uncles: Ron (Jane Pye) Lundy, Christa Lundy, Wendell (Nancy) Welsch, Ellen (Keith Bersebach) Welsch, Elizabeth Morrison, Richard (Holly) Welsch, Megan (Andrew) Racevskis, Jack (Mary Strawn) Welsch; cousins: Kayla, Jessica, Dana, Logan, Brooke, Colleen, Morgan, Kelly, Erin, Matthew, Conor, Killian, Sofia, and Rosa; many dear friends, and his beloved dog, Spaghetti.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4pm on Thursday, December 16th, 2021, at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, 43017. Friends and family are invited to stay for a catered reception until 8pm. Guests who are not vaccinated will be required to wear a mask.
