Christine Elizabeth Carrington

She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Carrington, Sr.; parents, Laura and Walter Hughes; Brothers, Walter, Jr. and Clarence Hughes; Sisters, Laura Herlena Hughes and Hazel Dalton; children, Ricky Carrington and Iris Thomas.

Christine was born in Elkhorn, West Virginia. She was Salutatorian of her graduating class at Elkhorn High School. After marrying the love of her life, William, they decided to move their family to Columbus, Ohio. Christine and William often enjoyed hosting family functions and traveling to see loved ones across the United States. They were both active members of Traveler's Rest Baptist Church for many years, where Christine was a member of the Senior Choir, as well as, the Willing Workers Missionary Auxiliary. Christine also was a proud soror of Zeta Amicae Greek Organization.

Christine spent her life being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She enjoyed spending time with family, talking on the phone, shopping, watching CNN, and buying all things that were leopard print. Later in life, Christine moved in with her daughter and became a faithful member of New Birth Christian Ministries. She lived out the remainder of her days attending church, relaxing at home and being surrounded by love.

Left to cherish Christine's memory are her children: Joyce (Howard) Williams of Atlanta, GA; Larry (Priscilla) Carrington of Hebron, OH; Laura (David, deceased) Tanyhill of Syracuse, NY; William E. (Terry) Carrington of Detroit; Dennis (Sylvia, deceased) Carrington of Atlanta, GA; Denise Carrington of Canal Winchester, OH, and her adoptive son Joseph (Jenice) Brown of Pickerington, OH. As well as, a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, cousins, and friends. Along with, her best friend Mrs. Josephine Riley.

She will be truly missed by her friends, family, and all that had the honor of knowing her.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021 at New Birth Ministries, 3475 Refugee Road with visitation from 10-11:00 a.m.
