

Charles Alfred "Sonny" O'Harra passed away on May 23, 2016 at Faucett Memorial Hospital, Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born on December 31, 1934 to Norman Alfred and Clara (Perry) O'Harra. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Mary (Sampson) O'Harra; daughter Anne (Robert) Fox; son Michael O'Harra; and beloved grandchildren Ryan Hayden, Katherine, Samuel and Henry O'Harra. Charlie graduated in the class of 1953 from North High School. Since he was an only child, he considered his North friends his brothers and sisters. He attended The Ohio State University, and enjoyed following the Buckeye sports. He served in the United States Army. Charlie, with son Michael, founded Able Pallet and Manufacturing Co. on Harmon Avenue in 1984. He continued to work, taking time off to travel, play golf, and winter in Florida. He loved to antique as he was always looking for a Currier and Ives prints he loved to collect. He was a member of the American Historical Print Collectors Society. The O'Harras were original settlers to Franklinton. He was a member of the Franklin County Genealogical Society. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life from 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street, and from 11:30-12:30 pm Wednesday, June 1, 2016. At that time, a procession will form to Green Lawn Cemetery where graveside services will be held at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
