Charles Edward Hayden

Charles "Chuck" Edward Hayden, 79, of Columbus, went to live with God on May 30, 2018, surrounded by his family. Born in Buchtel, Ohio to the late Dana and Cuba (Stratton) Hayden, he was also preceded in death by 11 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Yoko (Yamaguchi) Hayden and their children Asahi, Sanka and Daichi (Andrea) Hayden; eight grandchildren; brother Bob (Margaret) Hayden; and Karl Jentgen whose friendship and support are beyond measure. Chuck served in the United States Army from 1961-73 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Captain, having served 31 months during three tours and four campaigns in the Vietnam War. He was proud of his service. Chuck was a devout follower of Christ, and a good and faithful servant. Visitation will be held from 1-3PM with military honors concluding on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna. Interment will take place at Dayton National Cemetery on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11AM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Voice of the Martyrs.
