

Charles Ray Carroll, age 73, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away, after a long and valiant battle with heart disease, on March18, 2012 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born on February 9, 1939 in Rossmore, West Virginia. He was a 1957 graduate of Logan High School, Logan, West Virginia. He served in the Army from 1958- 1960 and Army Reserve from 1960-1962. Charles’ career spanned 20 years in retail sales and buying in Columbus area stores, including Lazarus, Madisons and Gold Circle. He then worked as a manufacturer’s representative for Feldkircher, Budnick and Associates before opening his own business, C.R. Carroll and Associates in 1979. He was a member of York Lodge No. 0563 F.&A.M. and a member of the Housewares Club. Charles was a very kind, compassionate man who touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He was an avid golfer and Buckeye fan. He truly enjoyed family vacations on the beach at Sanibel Island Florida and spending time with his friends and family. A member of Central College Presbyterian church, he was a devoted and beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Beulah Carroll, in-laws, David and Ruby Boyd and brother-in-law, Dennis Runyon, all of Logan County West Virginia. Charles is survived by Jan, his loving wife of 51 years, his daughters, Lisa (Rory) Marquardt of Westerville, Ohio, Cynthia (David) Barno of Gahanna, Ohio, grandchildren Brandon and Alexandra Marquardt and Jacob Barno, his brother Larry (Linda) Carroll of Clayton, N.C., his sister Eunice Runyon of Logan W.V, sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Wayne Fulmer of Steubenville, Ohio, brothers-in-law, James and Walter Boyd and many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Grant Medical Center, Dr. Bruce Fleishman and Dr. BJ Rangi for their loving care over the last 23 years. He fought the good fight.
