Charles Delton Allen

Charles Delton Allen, Lt. Colonel USAF Retired, age 102, died Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Willow Brook at Delaware Run in Delaware, Ohio. He was born on November 21, 1918 in Lone Wolf, OK, son of the late James C. and Emma E. (Jones) Allen Sr. Charles retired from the U.S. Air Force after serving for over 30 years. After retirement, he was a real estate agent with Cam Taylor for several years. Charles will be dearly missed and is survived by his granddaughter, Amy E. (Arthur) Scheffer and great grandchildren, Ava and Elijah Scheffer; daughter-in-law, Beverly C. Allen, all of New York; other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Martin) Allen; son, Douglas D. Allen; brothers, Sidney Allen and James C. Allen Jr. and sister, Hazel Vite. He was a member of Eastview United Methodist Church and longtime member of Berwick Kiwanis Club. Charles loved to play golf, travel and he enjoyed attending NASCAR and Indy races with his son Doug. Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, March 18, 2021 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232, where friends may call after 12 noon Thursday until time of service. Rev. Craig Arnold officiating. Inurnment to follow Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Attendance will be monitored for social distancing guidelines and masks are required for family and friends.
