

Carma Rae Acklin Eriksen, age 81, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born on June 20, 1934 in St. Paul Minnesota, to the late Lyle Carman and Marian Arloween Cornell Acklin.
A graduate of Newark High School, where she was the recipient of The Florence M. King Trophy in Drama. Carma was a graduate of The Ohio State University, class of 1956, where she graduated Cum Laude with a BS in Education, and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. She was a school teacher for 28 years within the Columbus Public School System. Carma enjoyed reading, time spent with her book club, “The Bookies”, gardening, playing games and cards. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. But most importantly, she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 60 years, Stanley; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Bill Barnett of North Bloomfield; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Connie Acklin of Granville; daughter-in-law Camille Eriksen of Dublin; brother-in-law Jeff Eriksen of Upper Arlington; grandchildren Todd and Kelly Barnett of Warren, Tara and Ben Pitstick of Jeffersonville, Tess Barnett of Defiance and Jacob Eriksen of Dublin; great-grandchildren Andrew and Haley Barnett, Amelia and Bradley Pitstick. She also joins her beloved son, Erik C. Eriksen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur and Marguerite Eriksen.
Calling hours will be held from 12Noon to 1pm, Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street in Worthington, where her Funeral Service will follow at 1pm that afternoon. Pastor Tracy Keenan, officiating. Interment to follow at Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to their church, Covenant Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 2070 Ridgecliff Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221, in her memory.
