Carl Douglas Owens

OWENS Carl Douglas Owens, 80, of Worthington, died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at home. He was born November 9, 1930. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and served in the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Marines, where he received the Purple Heart. Carl was a Claims Supervisor with State Auto Insurance, retiring with over twenty three years of service. He was a Football Marshall at OSU, enjoyed history, bird watching, fly fishing, golf and the Kentucky Wildcats. He collected stamps and coins. He is survived by three children Karen (Jerry) Benjamin, Carol (Taryn) Owens and Tina (Mark) Owens-Ruff, five grandchildren Forrest, Claire, Tyler, Kate and Alice, his former wife Rosalie Owens. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 AM-1 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL. Private burial will be observed by the family.
