Bill A. Lucas

Bill (Clarence Arthur) Lucas, age 96, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2009. He was born in Columbus on May 30, 1913, to the late Carl and Mary (Fraley) Lucas. Bill was a graduate of East High School, and during WWII, he worked for Ross Steel Car Co. He then went to work for Lazarus as Assistant Display Director, and retired after 38 years. He was a lifetime member of Southgate Masonic Lodge, and was also a member of Grove City United Methodist Church, Grove City Sertoma and Grove City Lions Clubs. Bill was a loving person and devoted to his family, and he enjoyed playing cards, big band music, fishing, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Isabelle (Huffman) Lucas; and sister Dolly and brother-in-law, John Burkhart. He is survived by his children, Sue Lucas (Glenn) Karshner of Logan, Ohio, Billie Jean (Robert) Barry of Georges Mill, NH; sister-in-law, Flora Metropulos; grandchildren, Bridget (Joe) Drake of Nottingham, NH, Brenda Barry of Boston, MA, Mark (Katherine) Karshner of San Francisco, CA, and Kathy (Mark) Nacinovich of Las Vegas, NV; great-grandchildren, Sam, Abigail, Macy and Sydney; and loving nephews and niece, Jim Burkhart, Johnny Burkhart, Paul Huffman, Jay A Huffman, Scott Huffman, Bill Huffman, Steve Huffman, Jimmy Metropulos, and Chris Metropulos. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, December 6, 2009, at SCHOEDINGER NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City. Family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to the service.
