Betty McGlone

Betty Mae (Ellyson) McGlone, age 96, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 after a short illness. A loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She graduated from Worthington High School and Columbus State University before raising her four children in Reynoldsburg. She worked for the people and company she loved: Farmers Insurance until she was 86 years old. She was a passionate vegetable and flowers gardener and any home improvement project she could find. She enjoyed reading and traveling with her children and grandchildren. She has been a member of the United Methodist Church and Hannah Circle for over 55 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Ellyson and Leah (Tomlinson) Ellyson-Wygent; siblings, Robert Jr., Jeanne (Ellyson) Noble and Charles Ellyson Sr. and her son Brian McGlone. She is survived by her children, Lesley (Brent Marshall) Puett, Kevin McGlone and Caryl Barrett; grandchildren, Jennifer (Shawn), Vanessa (Peter), Kelly (Joshua), Jamie (Alex), Matthew (Rachel) and Katelyn; great grandchildren, Brody, Althea, Evelyn, Evelyn, Caroline and Claire; sister-in-law, Joanne Ellyson and multiple cousins and friends from both the United States and Canada. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 pm Sunday, May 21, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232. A private family graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue; Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 for pancreatic research in memory of her son Brian, in Betty’s name.
