Bernard Paul Lucich

Bernard Paul Lucich, a native of Sharon, PA, died peacefully at his home in Irvine, CA, on October 9, 2013. "Bernie" as he was known by many, or "Buddy" to his childhood friends and family, graduated Sharon High and went on to attend Western Reserve University, and The Ohio State University, where he got his Master's degree and taught English, and was only a thesis paper shy of his PhD in radio and television broadcasting, when he began a career in pharmaceutical sales to support his young family that he began with his wife, Dotti while living in Columbus, Ohio. Through his hard work, sharp mind and dynamic personality, Bernie rose through the ranks at Marion Laboratories, and promotions took him and his family to Cleveland, Kansas City, and finally to Southern California, where he spent his final four decades in the nutritional supplements industry, where he was well-known and respected. Bernie's hard work and sacrifice was testament to his love for his family, and he played an active role in his children's and grand-children's schools and athletics, doing his best to provide as much support as possible, so that they all had everything they needed to be happy, healthy and fulfilled. Bernie was far more youthful and healthier than his years, so his sudden decline following a cancer diagnosis in August came as a shock to all who knew him. Bernie will be missed by many, including his surviving family, Daughter Dori Lewis and her husband Clint, of Houston, son Jeff and his wife Ginny of Austin, son Jim of Southern California, and six grandchildren: Trevor, Tyler and Cody Lewis, and Ryan, Dylan and Katie Lucich. Family will receive friends 3-5 PM Sunday, October 20, at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., as well as Monday, beginning at 10:00 A.M., Family and friends will travel in procession to Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel on the grounds of St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High St., Lockbourne, for an 11:00 A.M. service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in Bernie's memory to the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, 660 Ackerman Rd., 6th Floor, P.O. Box 183112, Columbus, OH 43218-3112.
