Barbara M. Seymour

Barbara M. Seymour, age 73, of Gahanna, Ohio passed away Monday, November 22, 2010. She was born December 31, 1936 in Providence, RI to the late Franklin and Evelyn “Peg” Skillings; also preceded in death by a son, Kenneth. She was a graduate of East Providence High School and the University of Toledo. In addition to raising 5 boys, she enjoyed working in the world of retail, especially in the 500 Club at Saks 5th Ave. in Chicago. Barbara has been described as sassy, brassy and bold! She did not let life pass her by. Whether she was figure skating, playing tennis, shopping with the grandkids, playing loud brass music, baking or simply raking leaves, she was fully present in all that she did. Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Merritt Whitman Seymour; sons, David (Nancy), Eric (Tina), Todd (Jill) and Andrew (Lori); grandchildren, Nicole (Johnny) Bigger, Ciara, Emma, James and Sydney and great-grandchild, Lacie. A celebration of her life will be held at 3pm Friday, November 26th at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, where family will receive friends beginning at 2pm.
