Barbara Parker

Barbara was born on October 29, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio to Leota (Bauman) and Harold Bolen.

She graduated from West High School, class of 1955. She was a member of St. Paul EC Church/Amity Road EC Church for several years devoting her time with choir, teaching VBS and the nursery and later was involved in Wednesday night bible study. At a later date, Carl and Barb became members of Maize Road Baptist Church where they were involved at The Stowe Center. She volunteer making baby blankets and hats and enjoyed being part of the Secret Sister Society. Barb was a dedicated employee of The State of Ohio where she worked as a secretary for the Department of Taxation. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts like ceramics, crocheting, needlepoint and sewing. Barb and Carl enjoyed traveling around Ohio visiting historical sites and all 88 counties Heart of Ohio painted barns. She also loved watching The Ohio State University football, and Barb and Carl visited many stadiums to watch them play.

Barbara will be remembered and deeply missed by her husband Carl Parker of 68 years and her daughters, Jodi (Bill) Maynard and Karla (Tim) Fetter.

Grandchildren and great-grandchild: Chris (Cassi) Paxton (Isabell and Dylan), Sarah Heaberlin (Zac, Alyssa and Terri), Billie Jo Maynard (Skylar), Joe (Kara) Henderson (Wesley, Haylee and Emme), Brina Bennett (Holden, Henry) and Hannah Fetter.

Visitations will be April 1, 2024 from 5-7pm at Advantage by Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43229. A funeral service will be held on April 2, 2024 at 10:00am and will proceed to Sunset Cemetery at 6959 W. Broad St., Galloway, Ohio 43119 with Pastor Shawn Hensley officiating.
