Barbara grew up in several small towns in northern Ohio where she eventually graduated from Salem High School before going on to attend Kent State University. While at Kent State she earned a Bachelor's Degree of Fine Arts and then graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master's Degree of English. She then put her education to use as an English teacher at Gahanna Lincoln High School where she also spent many years as the Yearbook Advisor leading her students to achieve many accolades and awards for their work on the yearbook staff.
Among Barbara's favorite things she included her beloved students, The Ohio State Buckeyes' football and basketball teams as well as those of the Cleveland Cavs, Browns and Indians. She was a reluctant lover of cats after losing her dog, and an avid fan of trivia and games in general. Barbara was a lifelong member of the Kent State Alumni.
She is survived by her loving family; Son Mark (Kim) Karol of Salem, Ohio and daughter Kelly (Jeff) Dehnert of Lenexa, Kansas and their families, as well as her brother Jack Sanders of Texas.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life later this summer for all to attend. The time and place are to be determined. Visit Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service online for more information at www.schoedinger.com.
