Audrey R. Middlebrooks-Griffin, age 64, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, August 25, 2023 at the home of her daughter. Audrey was born on August 19, 1959 in Toledo, Ohio to Cossie Jacobs and Bernice Middlebrooks. She graduated from college and then went on to work at Capital Services, Mt. Carmel Hospital where she meet her late husband, Freddie Griffin. Audrey retired from the Columbus School Board. She enjoyed reading, listening to music and dancing. However, she will be fondly remembered for her skills in talking on the phone. Audrey joins in death her parents and husband, Freddie Griffin. She is survived by her children, Victor (Tiffany) Middlebrooks, Catrina Young, Kenny Middlebrooks, Carlissa Brown and Tyshauna Brown; grandchildren Victor Middlebrooks II, Anthony Middlebrooks, Jamayla Roush, Nadie Roush, Tayvonne Brown, Catrina Johnson, Pearl Middlebrooks, Ricardo Johnson, Analia Foster, Keniah Velazquez, Jennesha Johnson, Reacyna Brown and Rakyah Morrison; siblings, Gerald, Pamela, Annette, Cora Middlebrooks and Teresa Richards. Visitation will be held on Friday September 1, 2023 from 3PM to 4PM at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 followed by funeral service at 4PM. Mark Dettmer will be officiating the service.
