His Life: Tony graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1969. He worked at Superior Die, Tool & Machine Company for 10 years until he was hired at General Motors (Delphi) where he was a very skilled tool and die maker for 30 years. He retired in January 2007. When he had the chance, he enjoyed hunting at his property in Vinton County, Ohio; golfing and vacationing with friends; drinking a Yuengling or Rolling Rock beer and playing Golden Tee at his favorite bar Nike Sports Lounge; and working on his classic Dune Buggy. He loved playing his lottery cards and Keno! For his entire life since coming to the United States in 1952, Tony lived in Ohio…..Columbus, Upper Arlington, Grandview, and Hilliard.
His Spirit: He was known for his love of classic rock, his long hair, his beard, and his year-round uniform of tank tops and jean shorts even in the middle of Ohio winters. He was an animated storyteller sharing tales that usually began with “turnaround” and used many curse words before their endings. Underneath the seemingly rough and unemotional exterior was a generous, big-hearted, one-of-a-kind man that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Tony lived a full life on his own terms. To borrow some words from a song that embodies his spirit…..”I faced it all, and I stood tall…..the record shows I took the blows and did it my way."
His Request: Tony wanted a Celebration of Life gathering at his favorite bar hosted by his family. Since Tuesday was his regular Nike Bar day and 11AM to 1PM his regular time there, the remembrance will be at the Nike Sports Lounge, 2165 Hilliard Rome Road, Hilliard, Ohio 43026 on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 11AM to 1PM.
