On the wings of death, "the soul takes flight into the land where there is no night." For those who place their faith in the Savior's promises, they will rise in glory, even in death. Death, then, is simply the doorway to the Kingdom of God and Life Evermore.
Andrew Spencer Williams, known to many as Andy, was born on May 26, 1934, to Costine Butler in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He peacefully passed away on April 11, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Andy was united in holy matrimony to Audrey Green, and together they shared more than 50 years of love and companionship. He was preceded in death by their beloved son, Bruce Archer Williams, Sr.
Andy leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion. He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey; his grandson, Bruce Archer Williams, Jr. of Texas; his granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Williams of Richmond, Virginia; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Andy lived a life rich with experiences. In his 20s, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in various exotic locations, including Bangkok, Japan, and Taiwan, with countless others too numerous to list. Upon returning to the United States, Andy and Audrey continued to explore new cultures through his assignments across different regions of the country. His final tour brought him to Columbus, Ohio, where he retired after a distinguished military career, settling there with Audrey for over 45 years.
After retiring from the Air Force, Andy stayed active, initially taking on a managerial role at a local restaurant. He continued to work diligently until his retirement in the 1990s.
Andy was known for his unwavering devotion to his wife, Audrey. He was described by those who knew him best as meticulous, straightforward, and genuine—a man whose integrity and sincerity left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. He will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
