Allen "Russ" Redding

Allen Russell Redding, age 90, of Grove City, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Darby Glen Nursing Home in Hilliard. Allen retired from a career in sheet metal from Local Union 98 and later worked for the Southwestern City Schools. He was a passionate wood worker, dedicated church member, and a proud World War II Veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Mona Jean, parents Allen C. and Bessie Redding, brother Harold, and daughter Wilma Cordts. He is survived by children Beverly (Ken) Johnson, Clint (Rachel) Redding, Debi (Tony) Palmer, Phillip (Cathy) Redding, Vickie (Bruce) Thurmond, and Steven Redding, as well as dearly loved grandchildren, friends, and family. The funeral will be held at SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS Funeral Home, 3920 Broadway in Grove City, on Monday, August 29, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Contributions may be made to the Grove City Church of the Nazarene.
