Alfred Johnson Jr. was born to the late Martha and Alfred Sr. on November 22, 1949, in Brooklyn, NY. He was the youngest and only boy in the family with 3 older sisters. Uncle Brother or Poppa as he was affectionately known was educated in the NYC public school system. After graduating high school at the age of 18 Poppa started working for the City of NY as a sanitation worker. He worked 30+ years for the City before he retired and moved with his wife Judy Wilson-Johnson to Columbus, Ohio to enjoy the rest of their lives together.
At the tender age of 15; Uncle Brother sustained 3rd degree burn trying to save his family from a raging house fire in Brooklyn. That day April 1st 1964 Uncle Brother became a hero, a legend and a protector. Poppa was dedicated to his family, he was a great chef, handyman and loved sports. He was one of a kind.
God welcomed Alfred home on June 18th, 2024. Preceding him in death was his devoted wife Judith Ann, Mother-in-law Dorothy C. Roberts, sisters Jean, Teresa and Mary. Father and Mother Alfred Sr & Martha Johnson. His memory will live on through his loving daughter Rashada and grandson Tyrone. Felicia and Alfred, nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins, friends and other family members. Alfred Johnson was a cherished man and will be celebrated for many lifetimes to come, he is missed and will never be forgotten.
