Albert Manter, “Partner,” age 75, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Al was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Korean War veteran. Al worked at Capital City Lumber Company for 20 years before opening his own construction company, Manter Construction Inc., in 1979. Al is a member of the Magnolia Masonic Lodge #20 F&AM. He was passionate about good friends, fishing, his “lawns,” life at Indian Lake, and most of all, his family. Al had the wonderful ability to live, laugh and love by touching and impacting the lives of so many people.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Flora Manter; Brothers, Jimmy, Carl, Harry and Bob Manter; Sisters, Jane Donahue, Alice Winters and Joann Kanego. Al is survived by his loving wife of 26 years and caregiver, BJ D’Anniballe-Manter; Son, Mark (Karla) Manter; Daughters, April (Tim) Powers and Ashley Manter; Grandchildren, AJ and Jeremy (Veronica) Matheny, and Shane (Krista) Manter, Amanda Thomas; Great Grandsons, Seth and Austin Manter and Anthony Matheny; Brother, Tom Manter; Sisters, Margaret Currier, Mary Gockenboek, Julia Jones, and Betty Lou Grom; In-laws, Arthur and Marian D’Anniballe; Brothers in-law, Tom (Jeanne) and David (Sally) D’Anniballe; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family will receive friends at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N High St.(1/2 mile south of I-270), Worthington, OH 43085 from 4-8 PM Sunday. The Masonic Service will be at 4PM Sunday. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 1, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment is at Blendon Central Cemetery.
