I remember your mother and father fondly. Susan, I recall you and your mother showing up on my mother‘s birthday party and telling me the story of your ride in the limousine to get Dairy Queen’s. David, do you recall diving in at a swim meet, to have your suit fall down to your knees and proceeding to moon everybody with every butterfly stroke. I remember the fun I had with your father at a masters swim meet. Your father told Chick Newell, “Jerry looks real good” on the third lap of 100. Chick said “ The race ain’t over”. Wiseass Chick was right, on the last lap a piano fell on my back along with a hippo and an elephant. Oh my God, the pain! Our lives are filled with joy and pain. May the pain of your loss be overcome with joyful memories.

Tom and his family were my next door neighbors while growing up in Columbus.  His Mom and Dad were terrific people and I always enjoyed seeing them.
Tom was a gem, as a boy, and it was obvious he was destined to be an outstanding man.  He was brilliant in his studies and always outgoing and friendly.  I liked him from his childhood on to his achievements as a Lawyer.  At High School reunions, Tom would be the first person
I would look for to say hello.  As our years rolled on, he never changed.  The thought that he has passed is painful for me.  He was a wonderful guy.


I had the opportunity to get to know Tom when I was involved with the Heritage Fund of Bartholomew County.  I appreciated his public service attitude, his kindness, and his caring.  I am so sorry to learn of his passing, and send you all my condolences.

My most cherished memories are with you, Aunt Lynn, Uncle Tom, Herb & Isabelle relaxing on the shore at Harrison Lake, and listening to Tom play his harmonica.  I pray that you find comfort of knowing that he is with your mom in Heaven.

Thomas Bigley was a generous, kind man. I will never forget the way he welcomed David's friends, including me, into his home while we were in high school. Later, while I was an undergraduate, he spent time reviewing a term paper I wrote on media law. (The paper got one of two A's in the class!) He struck me as a consummate professional who never took himself too seriously. He will be missed.

Dave and family, I was so sorry to hear this sad news. Your Dad was a wonderful man and I know you will miss him so much. I hope your memories and his life well lived will comfort you during this tough time.

Susan, I am fortunate to be one of Tom's first cousins and to have reconnected during our first cousins reunions.  I was looking forward to my annual visit in the Fall to see both you and you Dad, but now I'll have to wait for Heaven to see him again. I feel certain that Tom had accepted Jesus as his Savior (as Tom always displayed the fruit of having God's Spirit within him, Galatians 5:22-23), and he'll be waiting for you, me, and all those who also accept God's free gift. I worked with Tom for many years in the 80's and 90's.  He was an attorney that took me under his wing when I was a young trust officer.  He was a mentor and one of the kindest men I have had the pleasure of knowing.  He will be missed.

Tom was a wonderful attorney and friend. He gave valuable legal advice to Heritage Fund --the Community Foundation of Bartholomew County for years.

He was one of the brightest men I ever met. He will be missed.

I worked with Tom for many years as an alumni volunteer for Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.  He was a joy to work with, and he gave so much to our fraternity.  The Brothers of Phi Psi will all miss him.
