Joann was born in Seymour November 6, 1933, the daughter of Morton and Salina Riley Myers. She married Richard L. Tuell April 1, 1955; he preceded her in death October 3, 2016. She retired after 35 years as a Registered Nurse at Columbus Regional Hospital, serving many years as Nurse Manager.
She was a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church and Retired Nurses’ Association. She loved to travel, having been to all 50 states and several foreign countries. She collected Depression glass, loved to crochet, work word puzzles and was a great Scrabble player.
She is survived by daughters, Shannon (Gary) White of Coon Rapids, MN, Sheila (Larry) Spurling of Evansville; sons, Tim (Deana) Tuell and Shawn (Karen) Tuell both of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Jason, Shelley, Michael, Mitchell and Aubree; 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents; husband.
A funeral service for Joann will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Rev. Steve Austin officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Saturday. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery.
