Ralph was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky January 31, 1940, the son of John and Cora McFall Brown. He married Barbara E. Trent in Whitesburg August 3, 1963; she preceded her in death March 15, 2021. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Berlin during the Berlin Wall Crisis. He was employed at Cummins Engine Company 22 years, retiring in 2016. He was a member of Parkside Baptist Church and was a Disabled American Veteran. He loved Duke Basketball and hunting and fishing.
He is survived by daughter, Pamela (David) Toll of Shelbyville; son, Steven Brown of Freetown; grandchildren, Tyler and Ashley Wilson, Steven Alan Brown, Shelby Toll, Sawyer (Haidee) Toll and Madalyn Toll; great grandchild, River Toll; brother, Raymond; sisters, Shirley, Brenda, Vonda, Vera, Debbie, Barbara and Sheila.
He was preceded in death by parents; wife; 5 brothers; 3 sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Visitation 4~8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana Monday 1:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
