Ralph Edward Brown, 81, of Columbus passed away Monday, May 10, 2021, at his residence Ralph was born in Whitesburg, Kentucky January 31, 1940, the son of John and Cora McFall Brown. He married Barbara E. Trent in Whitesburg August 3, 1963; she preceded her in death March 15, 2021. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Berlin during the Berlin Wall Crisis. He was employed at Cummins Engine Company 22 years, retiring in 2016. He was a member of Parkside Baptist Church and was a Disabled American Veteran. He loved Duke Basketball and hunting and fishing. He is survived by daughter, Pamela (David) Toll of Shelbyville; son, Steven Brown of Freetown; grandchildren, Tyler and Ashley Wilson, Steven Alan Brown, Shelby Toll, Sawyer (Haidee) Toll and Madalyn Toll; great grandchild, River Toll; brother, Raymond; sisters, Shirley, Brenda, Vonda, Vera, Debbie, Barbara and Sheila. He was preceded in death by parents; wife; 5 brothers; 3 sisters. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Visitation 4~8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana Monday 1:00 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
