Pauline H. “Polly” Moore, 93, passed away January 25, 2012, at 34:15 p.m. at Silver Oaks Health Campus. She was born in Columbus May 1, 1918, to Elmer and Hazel (Dutro) Herren. She married Edward Welsh October 21, 1936. He passed away May 22, 1960. She married Ivan H. Moore September 22, 1967. He passed away September 6, 1994.
Polly was a former executive secretary at Indiana Gross Income Tax Division and a medical assistant for Dr. Lowell F. Beggs.
A longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, she was currently a member at First Lutheran Church. She had been active in St. Peter’s Sewing Circle, Embroidery Guild of America and the Bartholomew/Brown County Medical Assistants group. She enjoyed needlework, collecting angels, cheering on Tony Stewart in NASCAR races, gardening and her “grand kitties”.
Survivors include daughters, Kathie Wiley and her husband, Dale, of Cape Haze, FL, and Columbus; and Vickie Welsh-Huston and her husband, Tim, of Columbus; and two nieces, Doris Loveless and Lisa Pendelton.
She was predeceased by her parents, both husbands, an infant sister, Thelma Herren, and her brother, Fred Herren.
Services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Myers-Reed Dignity Memorial Chapel on 25th Street with Pastor John Armstrong officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Polly’s favorite charities: Love Chapel Food Bank, Bartholomew County Humane Society or Hospice of South Central Indiana.
