Born in Columbus on December 30, 1961, Marsha was the daughter of Alva Ernest and Nancy Marie Nay Lucas. Marsha graduated from Columbus East High School in 1980 and from Indiana University in 1986. She had been employed by Cummins Inc. since 1987 and currently served as Corporate Responsibility Director for the company’s Components business. Marsha was a CPA and a CMA.
Marsha was adored by her children as a loving wife and mother. Strong in her faith, Marsha was very active in the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church community. She especially enjoyed her participation in the CRHP program and the lasting friendships she made there. She cherished spending time with her family, decorating for the different seasons, shelling on Florida Gulf Coast beaches, traveling to northern California with her husband and children, gardening, lunches with the “Fab 5”, watching the sunsets at her lake house, and generally making everyone she met feel as though they were her best friend.
Surviving Marsha are her husband, Stephen Allamanno of Columbus whom she married on October 9, 1999 at First Christian Church. Also surviving are her children, Alicia Williams and Mark Allamanno, also of Columbus; her brothers, Michael (Meredith) Lucas, Leesburg, FL, Marvin “Andy” (Monica) Lucas, El Paso, TX and her sister, Marilyn (Enoch) Morris of Ravenna, OH; nieces and nephews, Michael (Bethany) Lucas, Columbus, Katherine Knouff, Stow, OH, Jennifer (Mark) Freiman, Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Jason (Lauren) Morris, Upper Sandusky, OH, Ian Smith, Boston, MA, J. J. Smith, Palmetto, FL,; her mother and father-in-law, Jack and Judith Allamanno and a brother and sister-in-law, Christine (Rick) Allamanno, all of Palmetto, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial for Marsha will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday October 23, 2015 by Fr. Clem Davis at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. Calling will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th where a prayer service will be at 8:00 p.m. There will also be calling one hour prior to Mass on Friday at 9:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials for Marsha may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Turning Point. Online tributes may be sent to Marsha’s family at www.myers-reed.com.
