John "Jack" E. Manning

John E. “Jack” Manning, 87, of Taylor Rd. Columbus, IN died 2:50 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
Jack was born March 16, 1931 in Dayton, OH, the son of Ralph Elwood and Ruth Estelle Harrison Manning. He married Claranne Lorenz April 15, 1950 in Dayton; she preceded him in death June 10, 2016.
He worked 46 years for Reliance Electric, retiring as Service Manager and Warranty Administrator. In the 40’s he was a Golden Glove Boxer and was proud of being the Quarterback for Roosevelt High School in Dayton. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, John Purdue Club and was an avid supporter and contributor of The Humane Society, Wounded Warriors and Purdue University,
He is survived by daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Reed of Columbus and Becky (Steve) McAtee of Loogootee, IN; grandchildren, Julie Knotts and Amy Moore both of Seymour, Heather (Mark) Kaesgen of Cleveland OH, Michael (Sydney) Reed of Nashville, IN, Nick Arensmann of Chicago and Jennifer (Jason) Blasdel of Greenfield, IN; 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife.
A private inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
