James Louis “Clarky” Clark, 64 of Columbus, IN. died after a long battle with leukemia and bone marrow transplant complications at 10:15 PM Friday, October 09, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital South in Indianapolis, IN.
James was born September 27, 1951 in Cleveland, OH., the son of the late James T. Clark and Florine (Highley) Clark White.
Clarky was a 1970 graduate of Columbus High School. He worked several years at Cummins Engine Company prior to driving a dump truck for Bishop Trucking.
He was a member of ABATE Motorcycle Club, Harley Owners Group (HOG) and Columbus Order of the Moose.
The greatest joy in his life was his new Harley Davidson Trike and all of his motorcycle friends. Clarky will be truly missed by all that new him.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with fellowship immediately following at Ziggies Pub & Eatery.
In keeping with James’ wishes, cremation is entrusted to The Columbus Crematory on Pearl Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Diabetes Association.

James is survived by two nieces, Cathy Clark and Kim Anderson both of Columbus, IN.; two nephews, Kelly Klineyoung and Mike Clark both of Columbus, IN.; a great niece, Felisha Wood of Columbus, IN.; three great nephews, Bart Klineyoung and Clayton and Cody Dale Wood all of Columbus, IN.; several cousins in Columbus, IN. and KY.; and his former wife and dedicated caregiver, Luretta Clark of Columbus, IN.
Along with his parents, Mr. Clark was also preceded in death by his sister, Fran Clark.
The family of James would like to thank the staff of St. Francis Health Bone Marrow Unit and the many friends and neighbors for their continuous Love and Support, especially Missy Klineyoung for being a great caregiver and Charlie Vance for the exceptional lawn care service as well as his dear friends, Deana and Kermit Paswater, Bill and Dana Carson, Mike Isenogle, Rhonda Kinney Taggart, Tina Bishop, Denise Eckleman, John Blanford, Lisa Duke and Mann’s Harley Davidson.
