Elizabeth was born May 8, 1924, and was a lifelong resident of Terre Haute, where she and her husband, John, raised their three children. Elizabeth was a g ra d u a t e of Wiley High School in Terre H a u t e, University of Illinois and Indiana State University. She was an occupational therapist and then a first-grade schoolteacher for 25 years in the Vigo County School Corporation.
She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, PEO Chapter Z Sisterhood, Tri Kappa, and Chi Omega sorority at ISU and volunteered at Union Hospital and the Wabash Valley Community Foundation.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Steve White, of Terre Haute; a daughter, Linda White, of Evansville; and daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Trueblood, of Columbus. Also surviving Elizabeth are sisters, Jean MacBride, of Templeton, Calif., and Tod Noel, of Paris, Texas; grandchildren Anne (Corey) Trobaugh and Michael (Alison) Trueblood; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Morgan Trobaugh; a sister-in-law, Marian Woosley, of Clyde Hill, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband John; her parents, Hugh and Miriam Larrance; and a sister, Marianne Vincent.
The funeral will take place at First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be conducted from noon to 2 p.m. with the service immediately following. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash Valley Community Foundation-Elizabeth White Scholarship Fund.
