Christopher Aaron Lucas, 31, of Bean Blossom, died Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Christopher was born April 13, 1984, in Columbus, the son of Randy and Patricia Schrock Lucas. He was employed by Hagerman Construction Company of Indianapolis and was a member of Labor Union No. 120. He also was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus and frequently attended services at Faithful Gospel Church in Morgantown. He is survived by his loving companion, Nicole Whitaker, and their two children, Taylor and Wyatt Lucas of Bean Blossom; parents, Patricia and Donald Gorbett of Columbus and Randy and Aimee Lucas of Columbus; Nicole’s parents, David and Teresa Whitaker of Bean Blossom; brothers; Greg and Jonathan Lucas of Columbus, DJ Gorbett of Columbus and Brandon (Nina) Lucas of Brown County, Brandon (Tasha) McCutchen of Columbus, Thomas Quillen of Columbus and Tyler Lucas of Columbus; nephews, Elijah, Brayden, Dalton, Xander and Logan Lucas and Blaise Quillen; nieces, Brianna and Lilly McCutheon; grandparents, Joyce Gorbett, Warren Walker, Dennis and Mary Jane Blake; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Fred and Lucille Schrock, Daphne Walker, Lyle Lucas and Leon Gorbett. Christopher had an extreme love of life, his companion, his children, his family, his friends, outdoors and sports. He enjoyed shooting his bow, deer hunting, mushroom hunting, hiking, camping and fishing with his brothers, his daughter, nephews, stepfather and Uncle Mike. He was very outgoing and friended everyone he encountered. He enjoyed collecting things and trading. Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Randy Lavere officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
