Carol Joan Petro Law

Carol "Joan" Law, 70, of Indianapolis, a former resident of Columbus, died at 8:25 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis. A traffic analysis manager for National Starch and Chemical Company in Indianapolis for 29 years, Mrs. Law was a 1995 heart transplant recipient. She was a former member of Columbus First Baptist Church and a 1957 graduate of Columbus High School. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Myers-Reed Chapel 3729 25th Street Columbus, IN with the Rev. Jim Gregory officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Methodist Health Foundation Transplant Center I-65 at 21st Street P.O. Box 1367 Indianapolis, IN 46206. Law Nov. 9, 1984, in Gatlin, Tenn. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kimberly (Bob) Bennett of Columbus; a son, Troy Smith of Bloomington; daughters, Kimberly (Brad) McIntyre of Corvallis, Ore., and Debbie (Jamie) Marr of Columbus; sons, Donald (Karla) Law of Waterloo, IN, and Roger (Paula) Law of Greenwood; a sister, Ellen Hoy of Naples, FL; and grandchildren, Rachael Smith of Louisville, KY, Nick Smith of Columbus, Ashley and Shelby McIntyre of Corvallis, Ore., Gage Law of Waterloo and Justin Law of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lucille Dahn.
