Ann Dickey 90, of Columbus, Indiana, died peacefully in her home on February 12, 2015. She was born July 14, 1924 in Gleiwitz, Germany, to Margaret and Rudolf Kramer. Following the end of WWII, she met the love of her life, American GI Sgt. Henry Dickey, to whom she was married for 49 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Alfred and Gunther, and her husband.
Ann is survived by her two children Gretel Kulupka and Richard Dickey, her two grandchildren Sally Harmon and Nick Kulupka, and her two sisters Christine O'Brien and Ursula Skowronowski.
She was a deeply devoted and deeply loved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an accomplished tennis player and an avid tennis fan. Professionally, she was a highly respected accountant. Most of all, she loved the outdoors and treasured the time spent with her husband and family, camping and fishing in the deep Canadian woods.
Ann's positive spirit and no-fear attitude will be sorely missed by those she left behind. She led a model life of impeccable integrity and honesty.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, February 17 from 12-2 at the Myers-Reed Chapel, in Columbus, Indiana. Burial will follow in Garland Brook Cemetery.
