“Yvonne” Cotton Capparelle of Columbus, GA died surrounded by her family Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Piedmont Hospital. She is predeceased by her parents, Brady James (BJ) Cotton and Edna Earl Cotton; brother, Benjamin Jerry (Tinker) Cotton, brother, Edward (Brother) Cotton, brother, C. Don Cotton, and late husband Anthony (Tony) J Capparelle.
Everyone who knew Yvonne knew she was a hard worker who made sure her family was taken care of. In the late 70’s and early 80’s Yvonne raised her two sons as a single mom working full time as a buyer for Warren’s clothing store. Then in 1983, Yvonne married Anthony (Tony) Capparelle at which time they opened their own insurance agency, Capparelle’s Insurance Agency in Columbus where she worked alongside her husband for 26 years until his passing in 2009.
Tony would have been the first to tell you her support, dedication, thoughtfulness, and love enabled them to establish a business oEdna thers have trusted until this day. Yvonne was also involved in several organizations including the Jordan Alumni Association, the Shamrock Glen Homeowner Association, Garden Club, and her personal favorite, the “Sister Chicks”. Yvonne was a very dedicated nanna who loved her grandchildren more than anything. She made sure she always attended their games, banquets, or other events. She was a truly wonderful Nanna.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, Larry Hunsinger; brother, Andrew (Snook) Cotton; sister, Trish Dehner and husband Mike; brother, David Cotton and wife, Audrey; son, Ladon Hopkins and wife, Mallin; son, Christopher Hopkins and wife, Heather; grandsons: Taylor Hopkins and Cameron Hopkins, granddaughters: Emily Hopkins, Savannah Hopkins, and Ella Grace Hopkins; great grandson, Brewton Jace Hopkins, and life time best friend Sandra Herring Johnson. In addition, she is survived by several nephews, nieces, and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.
Yvonne loved her immediate and extended family very much. Her family takes great solace knowing she has been reunited with so many of her loved ones.
