Wynonia Slaughter

Wynonia Slaughter, age 72, resident of Seale, AL., died on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Saturday, January 14, 2012, 1 p.m. with Reverend Wesley Price officiating. Interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 10, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.

Mrs. Slaughter, daughter of the late Bob Underwood and Lillie Mae Skipper Underwood, was born February 21, 1939 in Lawrence County, GA. She was a homemaker and member of Seale Baptist Church. Mrs. Slaughter was preceded in death by a special aunt, Epsie Underwood.

She is survived by her husband, Howard L. Slaughter of Seale, AL; three daughters, Linda Funk and her husband Brian of Seale, AL, Michelle Ware and her husband Dale of Beauregard, AL, and Joan Morris and her husband Joe of Cottonton, AL; one step-daughter, Judy Slaughter Pearson of Appling, GA; two sisters, Virginia Hammett of Pensacola, FL and Faye Cook of Smith Station, AL; ; six grandchildren, Amber Funk, Alyssa Funk, Michael Morris, Natalie Morris, Mackenzie Morris, and Johnny Ware; other relatives and friends.
