Willie Frank Anderson, age 71, of Columbus, GA, passed away on October 26, 2019. A celebration of Frank’s Life will be held Friday, November 1, 2019 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Macon Road from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
Frank was born at Fort Benning on October 5, 1948, the son of Willie Earl Anderson and Pearl Rolison Anderson. Frank graduated from Jordan High School in June of 1967 and in December of 1967 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served on the USS Lowry DD-770 during the Vietnam War. After his service, Frank returned home and married Linda D. Greene on February 2, 1974.
Frank loved Auburn football, dancing, listening to his music and going to the beach. He was a proud Navy Veteran. He loved his shipmates and stayed in contact with them over the years. What he truly loved the most was his family, his wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Edward Earl Anderson and sister, Glinda Faye Polk.
Frank is survived by his wife, Linda; a daughter, Lisa (Mark) Scherer; son, Eric Anderson; four grandchildren, Ryan Scherer, Kristen Scherer, Nataly Anderson, Emily Anderson; brother-in-law, Richard (Linda) Greene; sister-in-law, Shirley (Bill) Gaultney; aunt, Mavis Walker; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who are family.
