William Jaime Restrepo Place known to all his friends as “Big Will” passed away at the young age of 26 on December 15, 2016. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved him. Will loved his “Madre” and “Bro” more than anything else. He was a great son and big brother. Will loved his Nanny and Uncle John. Will was the kind of person that put everyone above himself and would help anyone no matter what time of day or night.
Will loved football!! He bled red and black for the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons. He loved his days of playing wheelchair sports for the “Muscogee Lions”.
Will advocated for handicap accessibility in Washington D.C. by serving on the President’s Commission for Persons with Disabilities. He formerly worked at Goodwill Industries.
He liked trap music, was a gun enthusiast, video games, and was an audio enthusiast.
He loved life. He lived a full and active life and never wanted people to treat him differently because he was in a wheelchair. When Will was born the doctors said he would only live 24 hours. He was a miracle and loved proving the doctors wrong. Will’s motto was “Never Stop Fighting” he was a cancer survivor, and had the strongest outlook on life.
A Celebration of his life will be held at Upatio United Methodist Church, 13730 Macon Rd, Upatoi, Georgia 31829 on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 2:00 PM.
