Wayne Lee Mitchell Sr.

A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road, with Reverend Tom Owensby officiating. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Wayne was born in Anniston, AL. on August 22, 1957 to Walter Louis Mitchell of Cataula, GA. and the Late Mary Joyce Baber Mitchell. A resident of Columbus for many years, Wayne and his business partner Terry Brown owned and operated Columbus Security. He was Baptist by faith and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Wayne was an avid Fisherman and Hunter and enjoyed countless hours with his Boykin Spaniel Mitchells Mighty Maxamillion.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Blanco Mitchell of Columbus, his children, Wayne Lee Mitchell, Jr. and wife Heather, Michelle Suzanne Karcher and husband Jonathan and Kristen Nicole Vardman and husband Matthew, his father, Walter Louis Mitchell and sister, Judy Brown and husband Chris, sister-in-law, Michelle Blanco and mother-in-law, Helen Magill, grandchildren, Madison Joyce Mitchell, Emily Michelle Carrasquilla, Liam Paul Karchar, Hudson James Karcher and several nieces and nephews
