Walter Emanuel Powell, age 58, resident of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at his sister's residence. Graveside services are scheduled at Parkhill Cemetery on Monday, February 19, 2018, 11 a.m., according to Striffler-Hamby, Columbus. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. till 10:30 a.m.
Walter, son of the late Robert Evel Powell and Linda Jeanette Butler Powell, was born January 12, 1960 in Columbus. He was a painter by trade, serving many families in the Columbus area for several years.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Emily Marie Hardegree Powell. He is survived by three sisters, Teresa Darlene Cook and her husband Timothy, Mariam Lynn Peterson and her husband Jeffrey, and Rhonda Fay McDonald and her husband Robin; one son, Walter Hardegree; six nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
