Vivian was born April 22, 1926 in Columbus, Georgia to Lillian Hethcox Johnston and Leslie Millard Johnston. She was a graduate of Jordan Vocational High School in 1947 at age 16. Vivian first saw the love of her life "Bub" at a birthday party at age 10. Eleven years later after WWII they were married. Vivian and Bub called Columbus, Georgia home where they raised their daughter Dee Dee. Bub passed away at 90 years of age in 2014. During Vivian’s career, she had worked for the former Tom Huston Peanut Co. followed by the Bibb Mfg. Co. Vivian also worked 22 years with Grover Willis Law office, and finally retiring from SunTrust Bank after 14 years of service. She loved her family and spending time sharing life's values. Vivian was Christian by faith and was a member of the former Sherwood Methodist Church of Columbus before moving to South Carolina to live with her Dee Dee and Don.
Vivian is survived by her daughter, Dee Dee Money Pope (Don Pope) of Irmo, SC; grandsons: Clay Pope (Gina) of Lugoff, SC and Andy Pope (Holly) of Columbia, SC: great grandson, Elliott Pope of Lugoff, SC; great granddaughter, Ella Pope of Columbia, SC. and great grandson Abram Pope of Columbia, SC. Also to cherish her memory is her niece Tamie Gallman Dyer (Stuart) of Rayville, LA. a nephew, Dr. Ronald Johnston (Marilyn) of College Station, TX, great nieces Vivian Dyer, Denise Dyer Breazeale (David), Sheryl Dyer Frank (Tim), Leslie Johnston, and Marla Johnston Waller (John), Anna Stuart and Tes Pearo, great nephews Ashton Durham, Matt Smith and Will Durham .
Vivian was preceded in death by her beloved husband James C. "Bub" Money; her parents, Leslie Millard Johnston, and Lillian Hethcox Johnston; a sister, Dorma Johnston Gallman (C.W. Gallman) brother, Ralph Leslie Johnston (Mary Louise Johnston); a niece, Joye Gallman Durham and a nephew, Steve,Smith
A celebration of Vivian's life will be held Friday, February 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA 31907, with Dr. Jimmy Elder officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service. Vivian will be laid to rest in Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus, Georgia.
