Tommy was born on October 22, 1947, in Tuskegee, Alabama to his parents Mr. Tommy Lee Harvey, Sr. and Mrs. Willie Bell Ware. He went to South Girard High School in 1963 and graduated from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama from the Class of 1966. In 1967, he went on to serve in the United States Army for 3 years, and spent a great amount of his time living in Atlanta, Georgia where he built a wonderful 25-year career at Atlanta Steel located near Conyers, Georgia.
SPC. Tommy "Blue" Harvey, Jr. loved playing the guitar for his family whenever he would come home for a visit, which was his signature entertainment to us, and we loved it, and we really miss those moments. He will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family and all of the people who knew him.

Tommy Lee Harvey, Jr. is survived by his (sisters), Betty Jean Harvey-Glance (Allen), Gloria Dean Harvey-Wallace (Reuben), his (brother) Richard Harvey, his (nieces), Teressa Glance-Richards, Rachel Glance, Nicole Wallace, his (nephew) Reginald Harvey, his (great-niece) Taylor Richards, his (great-nephew) David Wallace, his (great auntie) Lettie L. Russell, his (auntie) Caroline-Baker (Charlie) his (uncle) J.L. Harvey. The Tarver Family, The Glance Family, The Austin Family, The Lewis Family, and the rest of the Harvey Family.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be 1:30 pm Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
