Wow I didn’t know you transitioned Mr Butts You were my favorite social studies, teacher . I didn’t even know you stopped teaching . As Kids as young as we were we tend to realize who really has an effect on us and who we learned from. 

Im  just now finding out from a random memory in my head of something you always said , I  was talking to my 10 year old daughter RANDOMLY about my 8th grade teacher at Fort Middle school  Mr Butts .  I  told her “you need to go to bed or you’ll be on punishment until that cows come home “ if you knew, Mr. Butts , he asked you to do something it  would end in  until the cows come home lol For an example, Miss Stinson , if you don’t stop talking , you’re gonna be in detention to the cows Come home. lol 
I appreciate you Mr Butts you were great during my middle school years , Sending continued prayers to your family and friend & I know you fought a great fight 🖤 Very knowledgeable man. Take your rest job well done.

Mr. Butts was my 8th grade teacher back in 1983-84. He was an amazing teacher, but even more so, he was an amazing person. I will never forget the lessons I learned outside the classroom. My condolences, sympathy, and hugs to the family, especially his sweet daughter, Jennifer. I remember Mr. Butts inviting me to meet his family and meeting Jennifer. This memory stuck with me, especially when I had my own special needs child. Mr. Butts (and his family) inspired me and will forever be in my heart.

My brother Mike Kendrick called Sunday, yesterday, to tell me about your husband.  We are so very sorry to hear such news.

We are sorry, too, that we never met Thomas.  His picture shows a very handsome man with a warm and wonderful smile.

Please call, or write, me when you feel up to it.  I will look forward to hearing from you!  We shared, years ago, many happy times.  I will always be grateful for your friendship.  Your family always held a place of high regard to me.

Thomas was very special to me and I will always cherish the memories I have. He was one-of-a-kind and he will be truly missed by all that knew him. I'm sorry that I did not come to the service, but I just couldn't bear to be there. I pray for Judy, Jennifer, Sherry and all the family that God will continue to comfort you. My heart is there with you. Rest in Peace, Thomas-loved you.

Mr. Butts was a kind man and passionate teacher.  He was by far one of the best history teachers I ever had at Fort Middle School or at any other school.  My deepest sympathies to your family during this time of loss.

I taught with Tom at Fort when it first opened. That smile!! His image in my mind always bears his warm, genuine smile, an outward image of his inner spirit. He was a joy to be around for both students and colleagues.

Mr. Butts was one of the nicest teachers I ever met while at Fort Middle School. He will be missed.

Mr. Butts was such a lovely person.  I truly enjoyed working with him and may God grant each of you peace during this difficult time.
