Terry was born in Gastonia, NC on March 3, 1946 to the late John Luther Jenkins and Ruth Walker Jenkins.
Terry is survived by his wife, Patsy C. Jenkins of Columbus, GA; daughters, Renee Petty (Kline) and Michelle Bush (Philip); and grandchildren, Brandon Petty, Lyl Petty, Sierra Petty, Paxton Bush, and Micah Bush. Other family members include, Kim Holman (Dale), Kevin Taylor (Rebecca), Ryan Taylor, Shawn Montrey, Shane Montrey and Kinsley Montrey.
After graduating from high school, Terry served in the military with a tour in the Vietnam War. After the Military, he attended Gaston College in Dallas, NC. Terry received his B.S. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina. Terry was a textile chemist, specialist and consultant for companies such as Vulcan Performance Chemicals, Columbus, GA; Phil Chem, Greer, SC; Callaway Chemical Co. Columbus, GA; and Calgati Chemical Co. LTD in Newnan, GA.
Terry enjoyed fishing and skiing on his two boats. He was an avid golfer and he enjoyed time at the beach and watching television (especially UNC). Terry was an excellent cook and loved concocting special dishes in the kitchen. He enjoyed shopping at Bass Pro Shops for his fishing and boating gear. Weekends were spent in Eufaula, AL, camping, fishing and socializing with our many friends on their boats and docks before his accident in 2007.
