Sue Jinright Iden, 84 of Columbus, GA died peacefully at home Tuesday, September 5, 2023. Born March 22, 1939 in Bibb City, GA. She was the daughter of the late Hurshel and Laurice Jinright. She retired from Fieldcrest Mills. She was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.
She touched many young lives through coaching softball and baseball. She always welcomed the many friends of her children into her home. She was always known to have a smile on her face.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include a son, Wayne (Angie) Curley; a daughter, Kathy (Andrew) Slavico; three grandchildren, Kristi (Courtney) Curley, Bradley (Kendall) Curley, Benjamin (Lyndsey) Slavico; and two great-grandchildren, Skyler and Damien. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husbands, Hamp Williams and Charles Iden; her sister, Mary Jinright; and her two brothers, James Jinright and Wendell Jinright.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 3:00PM. Pastor Todd Horne officiating service. Family will visit with friends on Friday evening, September 8, 2023 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM and Saturday afternoon from 2:00PM to 3:00PM. Burial will follow chapel service at Parkhill Cemetery.
