Sarah F. Graydon

Arrangements under the direction of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.Sarah Frances Graydon, 85, of Columbus, GA passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Columbus Hospice in Midtown Medical. She was born June 14, 1930 in Crenshaw County, AL, to her late parents, Houston and Ida Mae Cobb Stephens. Mrs. Graydon was a member of Second Baptist Church and was an avid reader. She loved spending time with her family and baking cakes, especially her Red Velvet Cake.

The family will receive guests for visitation Tuesday, August 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Wildwood Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 26, 2015 10:00 am in Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, followed by a Committal Service at Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Graydon is preceded in death by her husband of Fifty Years, Willis Graydon; two sisters, Dot Cox and Mildred Hayes; and one brother, Robert Stephens. She is survived by two daughters; Gloria (William) Thomas of Columbus, GA, and Charlotte (Ron) Hickman of San Antonio, TX; two sons, Steve(Charlotte) Graydon, and James Graydon, both of Columbus, GA; one brother, Huston L Stephens; and one sister, Margaret Ann Lumley; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
