Sarah Sexton Sanders Dudley November 16, 1925- June 23, 2015 Columbus, Georgia- Sarah Sexton Sanders Dudley, 89, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at her daughter's residence in Kingston, Georgia. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby with Reverend Helen Berenthien and Reverend Cindy Cox Garrard officiating. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM in the St. Elmo Room of Striffler-Hamby. Mrs. Dudley, daughter of the late Oscar William Sexton and Genie Mae Rodgers, was born November 16, 1925 in River Falls, Alabama. She was a Bookkeeper for A & P Groceries before she retired. Mrs. Dudley was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church then St. Luke United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, was generous and giving, with the occasional lecture. Mrs. Dudley enjoyed traveling, gambling and loved to play Bridge. She spent a lot of her time gardening, especially tending to her gardenias. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Wilson Sanders, second husband Harold Dudley, brothers Roger, Oscar, Athey and her sisters Hazel, Edna and Johnnie. Survivors include her children; Larry Sanders (Patty) of Palm Harbor, FL and Genie Sanders Ussery (Kent) of Kingston, GA; grandchildren Brian Sanders, Jennifer Henderson, Nicholas "Nick" Henderson (Lesley) and Jamie Henderson; great grandchildren Alexis, Sarah, Courtnee, Connor, Christian, Peyton, Charleigh, Wilson, Liam and Ian; sisters Jackie Sexton Morgan, Mary Sexton Fowler, PhD. (Bruce Fowler, PhD.) and Gene Sexton Godwin, brother-in-law Billy Sanders; sister-in-law Ann Sanders; nieces and nephews.
