Sandra was born June 22, 1945 in Roanoke, VA to William H. Wells and Janie Louise Cox Wells of Statesboro, GA. She grew up in Atlanta and went to East Rivers Elementary and North Fulton High School. She attended Georgia State University where she majored in Political Science and was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority. It was there on a blind date that she met the love of her life, Otis LeRoy Reese. She and Roy enjoyed 56 years of love and marriage. In 1968,
Sandra and Roy settled in Columbus where they became lifelong members of St. Anne Catholic Church.
She was a caring and dedicated mother to three daughters Stacy, Kim and Jennifer whom she loved with every cell of her being. In her early years, she was an avid tennis player and enjoyed volunteering at Callaway Gardens and St. Francis Hospital. She was a talented seamstress, creative cake decorator and an amazing cook.
Over the years, she became a talented artist and enjoyed watercolor, acrylics, and making jewelry - all of which elevated her spirit. Socializing, playing games and laughing with friends and family also brought her so much joy. She had a gifted green thumb and loved to garden. She and Roy loved spending time in their mountain house with family and friends where they appreciated the beautiful and changing scenery of God’s beautiful creation together. Sandra was predeceased by her parents and her younger sister, Susan Wells Jensen.
She is survived by her beloved husband Otis LeRoy Reese of Columbus and sister Judith Ann Barber of Atlanta. She is also survived by seven grandchildren that she loved and her three daughters, Stacy Reese Milburn (husband Nat Milburn, children Claire and Jack Joyce) of Atlanta, GA, Kimberly Reese Rogers of Suwanee, GA (children Ansley and Reese Rogers), and Jennifer Reese Boyd (husband John Boyd, children Judith, Sarah, and Janie Boyd) of Columbus, GA.
