Sally Gordy Kenimer passed away peacefully at her home on September 26, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Church, followed by a private burial.
Sally Gordy Kenimer was born in Columbus, Georgia, on April 2, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Carroll Cabaniss Gordy and Schley Gordy, Junior. She was a lifelong resident of Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School in 1958. She attended Agnes Scott College and graduated from the University of Georgia, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She married Guy Kenimer in 1963, and they were happily married for 61 years. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Church.
She is survived by her husband, Guy Kenimer, her daughter Carroll Pound (Bill), her son Guy H. Kenimer (Becky), her daughter Cynthia Hill (Brad), her brother, Bill Gordy (Val), her niece Kitty Walker (Chris), and nephew Schley Gordy (Jill). She was an adored Mimi to her eight grandchildren, Sally Pound Norman (Dick), Lucy Pound Saunders (Cameron), Bill Pound (Emily), Guy Kenimer, Meg Kenimer, Katie Kenimer, Richard Hill, Sara Hill and her three great-grandchildren Margaret, Rin, and Gordy Norman.
The family expresses its deepest gratitude to her caretakers, Delois Thomas, Kimberly Scott, and Stephanie Smith, for their loving care.
