Ruby Parker Burrell, 87, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 2, 1937 in Lee County, Alabama to the late Grace Owen Corley Parker and James Rufus Parker. She was married to the late Ralph J. Burrell. Ruby was the mother of two sons and she was a beautician by trade. She worked as a hairdresser for over 50 years in the Columbus area. Ruby loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. She was a great cook and shared her talent with her granddaughter, Cassey.
She was a wonderful mother, grandma and great-grandma, sister and aunt. Ruby was a caring, compassionate, and loving person who always thought of others first. Her kind, selfless, and nurturing spirit will be forever missed by all who knew and especially loved her.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her son Michael Burrell; her granddaughter, Cassey Burrell; her granddaughter, Ruby Nichole Clark; her brother, James (Frances) Parker; and a host of other family members. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and James Rufus Parker; her husband, Ralph Burrell; and her son David Burrell.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with Pastor Travis Rigsby officiating.
