Family will visit with friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 1:30-2:30 pm in the St. Elmo room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907. Graveside Funeral Services will follow at 3:00 pm in Parkhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Strickland graduated from Baker High School. In 1958, she married Horace Eugene Strickland, Sr. and they were married for 41 years before his passing. She was a very free spirit that loved taking care of her family members.
In her free time, she enjoyed fishing for crappie, visiting family out of town and spending time with her children and loved one nearby.
Her parents; brother, Wayne Payne; sister, Faye Payne and daughter, Tina Gunn preceded her in death.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two sons, Gene Strickland, Jr. and Damon Strickland. Five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; five sisters, Joyce Kelly, Jeanette Herring, JoAnn Glover, Judy Mills and June Payne and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended relatives and friends.
