Roderick A. "Rod" Greer

Roderick A. “Rod” Greer, 66, passed away on May 14, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will greet friends in the chapel beginning at 1:00 PM until service time. Attire for the service is business casual.

Rod was born October 7, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia to the late James Thomas Greer and Margaret Foster Greer. He had most recently attended Evangel Temple. Rod was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Benning after more than 27 years, but continued working for independent contractors after his retirement. He will be remembered for the love of his family and his enjoyment of hunting.

Survivors include his loving wife, Trisha H. Greer of Midland, GA; two daughters, Staci Ann Williams and husband, Ricky of Columbus, GA and Jennifer Leigh Pace of Macon, GA; two grandchildren, Gregory Kyle Christiansen and Kelsey Ann Christiansen; a brother, James T. Greer, Jr. and wife, Marilyn of Rock Mills, AL; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
