Robert J Young, Jr., age 58, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on September 13, 2021. Services are pending at this time. He was born in Columbus, Georgia on August 17, 1963; the son of Robert Jay Young, Sr. and Doris Louise French Young.
Robert grew up in Columbus and attended Shaw High School. When he was growing up Bobby loved to play baseball, his nickname name was “Bobby Jay” he played travel ball, their team would often make it into the playoffs.
Robert was a welder enjoyed being a truck driver. When he had time, Robert like to go fishing and boating. He was committed to his life partner of 21 years, Teresa Mathis.
When Robert was dump truck driver he received a new nickname. He was on a job and he drove his dump truck, the wrong way on a one way street. Quickly earning the nickname of “Wrong Way.”
His parents preceded him in death, they both passed in 2020.
Robert is survived by: the love of his life Theresa; his two sisters Sue Ellen Spooner, Patti Vinson; nephews, Bradley Young, Marcus Reynolds; and a niece, Brittany Gregory.
